Poetic Wednesdays Initiative is a youth-focused literary organization promoting poetry, creative writing, cultural expression, and literacy among young people in Northern Nigeria. The project involved a complete brand redesign and custom CMS development, transitioning from a basic WordPress site to a bespoke PHP/MySQL platform that captures the organization's literary soul.
The new design embraces an elegant, warm literary aesthetic with a carefully curated color palette—deep burgundy, warm parchment, and gold accents—creating a digital home that feels both timeless and contemporary. The CMS empowers the team to manage programs, events, team members, gallery albums, publications, and dynamic content without technical expertise.
Key features include a multi-step performance application system (open mic, poetry submission, voice note), volunteer management, sponsorship inquiry handling, live event notifications, and an album-based gallery with lightbox viewing. The platform also features dynamic Open Graph meta tags for SEO, ensuring each publication, voice profile, and event has optimized social sharing.
